Oskar Bauer (13 March 1900 – 20 January 1975) was a highly decorated Oberst in the Luftwaffe during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Oskar Bauer was captured in May 1945 by British troops and was released in 1946.
